Burner Start Fault
The burner has failed to ignite after the start-up sequence. The gas supply, ignition electrode, or gas valve may be at fault.
In very cold weather, a frozen condensate pipe can prevent ignition. Check the condensate pipe for ice.
Step-by-Step Fix Guide
-
Step 1
Check if other gas appliances in the home are working
-
Step 2
Try resetting the boiler by pressing the reset button
-
Step 3 Engineer only
If the fault persists after two resets, call a Gas Safe engineer
Work on gas appliances must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The steps above cover safe checks a homeowner can perform - any internal component replacement requires a qualified professional. If in doubt, always call an engineer.
