Low Water Pressure
System water pressure has dropped below the safe operating level. The boiler cannot operate without adequate water pressure.
Pressure loss is slightly more common in cold weather.
Step-by-Step Fix Guide
-
Step 1
Check the pressure gauge — it should be between 1.0 and 1.5 bar
-
Step 2
Locate the filling loop and slowly repressurise to 1.2 bar
-
Step 3
Close the filling loop valves and reset the boiler
-
Step 4
If pressure drops again quickly, there may be a leak
Work on gas appliances must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The steps above cover safe checks a homeowner can perform - any internal component replacement requires a qualified professional. If in doubt, always call an engineer.
